Life Celebrations

What to expect:

I believe a funeral isn’t just a time to mourn the person who has died, but also an opportunity for family and friends to come together to celebrate a cherished life. “Doesn’t matter if you’re the president, pope, executive, or a homeless person, everyone has a story to be told and shared.” The service is a time to reflect, express our gratitude, and celebrate the person’s life. It needs to be done in a customized, unique, and personal way just like the person we are celebrating.

As a celebrant, I sit down with each family to talk about the type of service they would like and where they would like it held. With each family, this time is one of the most important moments. I don’t rush this special time together for me to learn about your loved one. I take the time to learn in depth about the person’s life story.

After I have sat down with a family, I pull all the information together to create the person’s life story. I hope when your guests leave they have learned something about that person and were moved by the celebration.

What we may talk about:

  •  What were they like as a child?

  • Education, work history, where did you meet and how did you meet?

  • What were their hobbies, favorite food, movies, music?

  • And most importantly, the stories families remember about the person including what words would you use to describe your loved one.

What I can also help with:

  • Help organize memory tables and pictures

  • Provide sound equipment

  • I follow up with you after the service to see how you and the rest of the family is doing and if I can be of any further help or support
